Benjamin Balima: "It is important not to make mistakes"
In December 2015 it will be ten years since Benjamin Balima has played for FC Sheriff. On his birthday Benjamin told a few funny moments from his life and also said that the match against FC Zaria is very important for FC Sheriff.
- Ten years spent in FC Sheriff are happy years for me. During that time I had many funny moments here. It is a coincience that my birthday is before an imporant match. I am concentrated on the preparation for the game. Now every match is important for us – it is final. It is important not to make mistakes. I think our team can win FC Zaria with greater score than in the previous time.
How is birthday celebrated in your native country Burkina-Faso?
If it refers to the club, then in Burkina-Faso as well as in FC Sheriff, the birthday person is congratulated by the whole team. Someone taps you on the shoulder, someone hugs you or shakes your hand, the others will wish you something. These are very touching moments.
What do they give you as a gift? Maybe something unusual?
In Burkina-Faso it is a custom to give animals or birds as a gift. I received a parrot as a gift, also a dove. But the most memorable present was a bicycle from my parents.
