The Moldovan national team ended the qualifying round for the World Cup, the final stage of which will take place in the summer of 2026, with a 1-4 defeat to Israel.

Sheriff FC full-back Danila Forov started the match, played 54 minutes and provided an assist for Ion Nicolae, who scored Moldova's only goal.

Two other players from the first team, Vyacheslav Kozma and Jorge Miguel Lopez ‘Jojo’, may play today. The former for the U-21 national team in Kazakhstan, the latter in the match against Egypt.
