Artem Hordiienko: "When I arrived I said "Wow"
The first interview of the newcomer of FC Sheriff Artem Hordiienko. About football, family and the first impressions about the club:
- We know that there were several more offers. The press wrote at least about two options of continuation of career. Why was FC Sheriff chosen?
- There were options. Interest was from clubs from Poland and Hungary. However, all this was just in words, specifics was not observed. My representatives informed that there is an interest from FC Sheriff, specific proposal. We read the offers and very quickly reached an agreement. The club to act promptly, sent all documents. After that I made the decision not to consider other options. Everything was solved within two-three days.
- In Ukraine about FC Sheriff know firsthand …
- Of course. I think not only in Ukraine.
- In this regard you as a football player who played against eminent clubs, with players of level of Pogba are you ready to pressure which is in our club, considering that any draw in FC Sheriff is perceived as defeat?
- I think that I am ready. If it was in a different way, I wouldn’t arrive here. I knew what it is the club, what ambitions it has. This is a multiple Champion, the owner of the Cup, the regular participant of Euro cups. I am ready to it. A little time for adaptation is necessary. And then - I will help the club in every way.
- Proceeding from what you knew about FC Sheriff doeas the reality correspond to your preliminary idea of the club?
- Honestly - I was a little shocked. In a good shock. I knew that here it is good infrastructure, regarding football questions everything is super. I heard about it, and visually saw only on the Internet. But when I arrived, said "wow". The base is mad, conditions are amazing.
- In the team Ukrainian Andrii Bliznichenko plays. Were you succeeded to talk to him?
- Yes, I talked to him. We knew each other in absentia. Played against each other. We have a mutual friend who acquainted us. We talked, he confirmed that here everything is at the top-level. This factor played a big role during decision-making either.
- Andrii after the first matches became "The best player of the month" according to supporters. Does it encourage somehow?
- I just have a wish to play, be useful for the team. The fact that Andrii was recognized as the player of the month is logical. He is a good football player and showed it on the field in the first month. I’d like to wish him quick return on the field, score goals and help the team.
- How did the team accept you? Did you know other boys earlier?
- No, personal acquaintances were not. In the first day did not manage to get acquainted with boys, were engaged in papers. Today process of acquaintance took place (the conversation was next day after signing of the contract). Talked to some boys. Accepted normally.
- Aren’t you frightened that Tiraspol is not such a big city as, for example, Kiev? There are no special entertainments?
- I want to tell that I have on the first place a family, my wife and child. Especially I do not need entertainments. I have them enough at home with my son. After the trainings I give myself completely at home. The second or third training turns out. It is important for me that family feels comfortable.
- What priorities does Artem Hordiienko have as a football player? What football did you get used to play?
- That football which is seen by the coach. I will try to adapt to the vision of the coach and to show a maximum what I’m capable of.
- Would you like to say anything to supporters?
- I can promise that I will get in shape and I will give myself to the maximum, I will make everything that depends on me. I will wish all of us victories. The team needs support of all supporters. So, good luck.
