Aras, what do you think about the battle against Zimbru?
In the games like this, the result is above all. We played well and gained three important points. In a derby, it’s of big importance what the final result is. And even if the game wasn’t of the highest quality, the victory, as I said, is the top priority for our team.
How do you feel after the injury? Are you ready to play the entire 90 minutes?
Now I fell myself far better. After such injuries, it’s difficult to get into the required condition. I’m happy my rehabilitation is going fast. Every day is important in my football career so thank God I am healthy and keep on playing this great game.
How much are you satisfied with the team’s attacking play?
We have strong players in attack but I think we need to improve during the season. Converting chances and assets to our forwards – these are the components we need to work on.
In a game, are you aimed at scoring or assisting?
It depends on the coach’s plan and my position. Let me note that midfielders have lots of duties during the game; they are not only scoring and assisting to our attacking teammates. For example, we need to know how to control the game tempo or to combine the actions in defence with those in midfield.
Before the game, do you have any specific personal attitude?
No such thing. I just come on the field to do my job, that is to get a good result.
Tell us about the most memorable derby you had?
Many of them come to mind: Ayaks vs. Feyenoord, Besiktas vs. Galatasaray, Moscow derby Spartak vs. CSKA. I still remember the goal shot against the Armeitsy (Militarians) where I played for Spartak.
What do you think of classico Sheriff vs. Zimbru?
In Moldova, such derbies are of the same level with other championships if to consider their tension but the attendance is greatly different. The derby games are not simple games: they are battles with own history of confrontation. That’s why we wish there were more spectators on such historical games.
