Andrei Peteleu: “Now, it is important to achieve the goals that we face”
The newcomer of FC Sheriff, Andrei Peteleu, spoke about the childhood dream that came true, about matches in Europe and the new team:
- Andrei, welcome ..
- Thanks a lot.
- What were the first days at the club, how do you feel in Tiraspol?
- From the first minutes I felt good. Every time you change something in life it is difficult, but every day I get used to it, try to find out what awaits me and the people who surround me. The training base seems fantastic to me. I told one of my teammates that 10 or 11 years ago I've been already here, as part of the Under-15 national team. An international tournament was held here. Then we were delighted with what we saw. Moreover, we said to each other, it would be good to play as part of FC Sheriff. Then the team coach was Mihai Stoichiță. Then I worked with him in the Petrolul Ploiesti team. And here I am, a club player.
- You moved from the camp of the Champion of Romania to the camp of the Champion of Moldova. Is this a step forward?
- Definitely. I had offers from other clubs, but I chose the Champion team.
- All the Romanian players who played for our club, there were enough of them: Christian Tudor, Sebastian Hutsan, Razvan Kochish, Gheorghe Florescu, everyone managed to show themselves on the good side and then left for stronger championships. How do you see your future?
- Firstly, I’m not going to go anywhere, I just signed a contract. Now, it is important to achieve the goals that we face, and only then, perhaps, I will think about something. I came here to work, I came to give the team all my strength and together with the team to realize everything that the management has singled.
- The main tasks of FC Sheriff are to win everything, the Championship, the Cup and qualify for the group stage of the European Cup. You played against Lazio, against the French Rennes. How do you feel in European matches?
- When you play matches that are exactly different from the Championship games, CFR is the champion of Romania, motivation is multiplied not by two, but by three. Europe, of course, is different than national championships.
- How important is the fact that the home is not far from the club’s location for adaptation?
- I try not to think about the home. It is not too close, but is not so far. Now I think less about it. Of course, I talk to my family, to my parents. But the emotional component does not play a role right now. It is necessary to approach professionally your business. Emotions must be present at work, on the football field. If I chose this club, I chose to work and give my full strength for the benefit of FC Sheriff.
- The philosophy of FC Sheriff is simple - any draw result is a defeat. Ready, from a moral point of view, that it will dominate you?
- One hundred percent. Ready to overcome any difficulties. And the boys in the dressing room, as I understand it, have the same idea. Both new players and old ones, we all want one thing - to do our job well together.
- But, it means competition with other players ...
- Of course.
- And what do you think about this competition?
- I can’t say anything yet, let's see.
- Maybe there is something to say to supprters ..
- I'd like to invite them to our matches and let them be as many as possible. Even if, for now, they personally do not know me, I invite them to all our matches, we can get to know each other. I want to assure them that I will give one hundred percent of my strength for the team. FC Sheriff Press Office
