Croatian defender of FC Sheriff Andrei Lukic shared in an exclusive interview with the club's press office his thoughts on the victory over Luxemburg FC Fola Esch (2: 0) and on the upcoming game with Azerbaijani FC Qarabag in the second round of the Champions League.

 

- Andrei, congratulations on scoring a goal against Fola Esch. Tell us about the game - was it difficult to defeat the opponent from Luxembourg?

- Thank you for your support and good wishes. We knew that our team was better than the rival, it only remained to show this on the football field. We created a large number of scoring chances, constantly aggravated and threatened the guests' goal. As a result, we achieved a well-deserved victory, I congratulate everyone on this.

 

- You scored a beautiful goal - was it difficult to realize the goal-scoring chance?

- I am very happy that I scored and helped my team. It was a great assist from Benedik Mioč. The most important thing is that we won and passed to the next round.

 

- The team created a lot of chances - what was not enough to bring the matter to a crushing score?

- We created a lot of chances, but didn't score what needed to be realized. This is what we need to work on in the future. An important component of the game to take into account - especially in the next game with Qarabag.

 

- With what thoughts do you expect the upcoming match in the Champions League against the Azerbaijani Qarabag?

- Qarabag is a good team, we respect them, but we are not afraid of anyone. The team travels to Baku to enjoy the game and compete for the next round. We believe in our quality, team spirit and victory.
