Andrei Corneencov: "The game was quite nervous"
Assistant head coach of FC Sheriff reserves Andrei Corneencov summed up the victory match against FC Codru reserves, Lozova (5: 1).
- Andrei, what is the outcome of today's confrontation with the Codru youth team?
- The game was quite nervous, especially the first half. There were a large number of unforced mistakes and technical defects. Hence the nervousness in the actions of the whole team came. The game had many transitional phases from defense to attack and vice versa. Outwardly, the pace was quite high, and therefore we need to give credit to the opponent for the game played. Despite the score, the opponent forced a fight and acted aggressively.
- Are you satisfied with the game of our pupils in the holding area?
- I’ll repeat that the game was on a collision course. Under such conditions, it is difficult to work for defensive midfielders. After all, you need to k up constantly the balls, both in defense and in attack. Plus technical defects today was very visible in the actions of our players.
- On September 3, the draw of the UEFA Youth League will take place. What are your anticipations?
-We’d like to get a good opponent. We played before with the Romanian and Azerbaijani teams. I would like to face off with a team from abroad. It would be interesting to play with clubs of a different mentality. In general, we are pleased to give battle to any opponent , who will be chosen by the draw with that we’ll fight.
