At the next congress of the European Football Union (UEFA), Alneksandr Čeferin was re-elected for another presidential term. In his speech, the President of the European Football Union also noted the contribution of our club to the development of football:

 

“Football is FC Sheriff, the winner of the Champions League match at the stadium of the most titled club in the world. This is football. European football is beautiful and fearless."

 

Let's remind that FC Sheriff beat Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on September 28, 2021 with a score of 2:1. Jasurbek Yakhshiboev and Sebastien Thill scored goals against Thibaut Courtois, and the team was led by Yuri Vernidub. In addition, our club is the only Moldovan football club that made it to the 1/8 finals of the European club tournament.
