Today, August 5, marks exactly 10 years of the first significant victory of FC Sheriff in the European Arena. Of course, before this date there were two victories in the Champions Cup of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In Europe, we did not succeed. But that day has come. After a draw, 0-0, on our own field against the Prague Slavia, the team went to the Czech capital with hopes for the best. And these hopes came true. Despite the ball missed in the first half, the team coached by Leonid Kuchuk fought to the end for the passing to the Champions League playoff round. And this was achieved by equalizing the score at the last minute of the meeting.

Led by captain Vazha Tarkhnishvili and led from the bench by the most successful coach in the club history, Leonid Kuchuk, Sheriff was the first and so far the only team that managed to get into the group stage of the Europa League. That year, the club turned 12 years old.

Now this is the history. History that descendants should remember. After all, without the past, there is no present, moreover a future.
