“Sheriff” club pays a lot of attention to the development of football. That is why the sport complex includes a football college for children from 9 to 16 years. The college for 160 students has comfortable living rooms for 2-3 persons, class-rooms, conference-hall, medical department, rooms for coaches and tutors and rest-rooms for students. A covered 50-meter swimming pool is being built near the college with a stand for spectators and diving-tower as well as a 60-meter sports hall. Apart from that, a rehabilitation center for football players and students is planned to be built. Six years after Football Club “Sheriff” was founded, the management of the Club made the decision to bring up our own talents for top class teams. Thus, the 16th of August 2003 was the official date of Football Academy “Sheriff” foundation. Now at the Academy 400 children at the ages of 7 to 17 learn the nuts and bolts of football. Daily all of them carry out their practical trainings at the fields of sports complex “Sheriff” absolutely free of charge. As well each child gets free meals. This fact serves as a main criterion for our Academy that distinguishes it from many schools on the former Soviet Union area, and it is the only one of its kind in Moldova. Moreover, nonresident boys have a good chance not only to train. Young talents from other cities of the Trans-Dniester Region (Pridnestrovie), Moldova and foreign countries have a full board. They are provided with accommodation in the Academy hotel, three meals a day, and opportunity to get school education. And all this is free of charge. For the last year the training process structure has totally been modified. Now all teams of the Academy play that football which is preferred by the first team. And this is only the first step. So that kids could feel as professionals in the full sense of the word from their youth up, since the summer 2007 Football Academy “Sheriff” will be divided into two subdivisions: Youth Football Academy and Professional Football Academy. In other words, the unprecedented project is created which has to ensure qualitative growth of players’ skills during the transition from youthful age to adult football. At Youth Football Academy, future stars will gain primary nuts and bolts of football skills, while at Professional Football Academy players, after passing the careful selection, will train according to a professional cycle. Recently, the management of the Academy prefers to have coaching staff younger than before. It is bound up with the transition to a new training system. Modern football does not stand still. It demands continual improvement from coaches in their work. That is why only those coaches have remained to work at Football Academy “Sheriff” who could make a big step towards a new reality and concepts of modern football, who are closely related with principles of innovations in modern coaching methods. In this connection all coaches of the Academy pass continual casting. Along with players, coaches have to prove they are the very best in their occupation. As well using modern methods which have been adopted by many famous Academies of European Football teams, since the 2006-2007 season all teams of Football Academy “Sheriff” play in the National Championships of Moldova against teams players of which are one year older. It is not complicated to become a student of Football Academy “Sheriff”. For that it is required nothing but loving football and passing the selection which is carried out by coaches of the Academy at all ages from 7 to 13 during the whole year.
